DETOX YOUR BODY

New Year, new plans, new you. Did you know that your body is full of toxins? They come from what you eat, breathe in and even the showers that you take. Toxins are everywhere, but are nothing to be too scared about. If you do a detox diet once a year, you will be making sure that your body is cleansed and you are left feeling rejuvenated. There are many people who think that every disease starts in the colon so a detox diet is a good place to start.
Here are some tips for your detox.
Remember that your skin is the largest organ of your body and a huge filter for toxins which leave your body via sweat from your pores. Using only natural soaps and making sure you have a water filter on your shower head will help to keep your skin in good condition. Brushing your skin regularly with a special skin brush can help remove the dead layers and keep your pores in good working order.

If you like to run, do it in parks and remember that breathing in smog and pollution when you run is the worst you can do to your body.
Here is a one to three-week diet plan that we've chosen as it gives you the energy you need for your everyday life and is a good introduction to healthy eating. Remember to drink lots of fluids such as water, herbal and green tea. Green leafy vegetables have a high chlorophyll content and high cleansing properties. Most people can handle it easily although some may experience some fatigue that will go away. If you have any specific health problems, please consult your doctor.
The Detoxification Diet Daily Menu Plan:
In the morning: 1 glass of water with juice of ½ lemon
Breakfast: 1 piece of fruit, (apple, banana, pear, citrus) and 15 minutes later a bowl of cooked whole grains, such as millet, buckwheat, brown rice or quinoa
Lunch: 1 or 2 bowls of a variety of cooked vegetables including stems, roots, and greens. For example, potatoes, kale, asparagus, carrots or beets, chard, cabbage
Dinner: The same as lunch. You can use some olive oil or butter and drink as much herbal tea as you wish
You can also make a special drink with 1-2 cups of veggie water saved from the steamed vegetables with some sea salt or kelp added for taste.
During the detoxification period, you can safely use the following herbs for cleansing:
Garlic – a blood cleanser, lowers fat, and is a natural antibiotic
Red clover – a blood cleanser
Dandelion root – a liver and blood cleanser, tonic and diuretic
Cayenne pepper – a blood cleanser and circulation stimulator
Ginger root – stimulates circulation and relieves congestion
Parsley leaf – a diuretic that cleanses the kidney and liver
Yellow dock root – a skin, blood and liver cleanser
One more tip… Before you detox, clean your house, get rid of old belongings, open the windows to ventilate it and on the last day book a massage or spa day that will help make your detox a treat to your body and feeling full of energy.
